S2S at Summer Block Party

Seeds to Soil set up a seed planting event at the WOSCA Block Association Party in Central Harlem on July 16, 2011. Joining up with this event allowed S2S to spread their seeds even further into the Central Harlem community with about 30 neighborhood kids learning about seeds and planting, some for the first time. Many kids were excited to plant many sets of seeds so they were able to plant one set to take home and care for and then planted a second plant that eventually will be put into a box in the Carrie McCracken TRUCE Community Garden.

Reprise at Carrie McCracken TRUCE Community Garden this Saturday!

By popular demand we've been asked back to Carrie McCracken TRUCE Community Garden Saturday, May 7! We'll be at the garden from 10AM - 12PM so come by and start your own vegetable plant. It's been 10 days since our first event, and many of the plants have already started to sprout! We'll also take the wagon down the street afterwards from about 12PM to 1PM so check back or follow us on Twitter to find out our exact location.

Seed to Soil Wagon coming to Central Harlem!

After a successful event at Carrie McCracken TRUCE Community Garden we want to bring Seeds to Soil to even more people in Central Harlem - on wheels! We'll bring everything you need, including cups, seeds, and soil, to start growing your own vegetable/healthy plants! Look out for the wagon in your neighborhood next Saturday, May 7. Sign up for our mailing list or follow us on Twitter to get more up to date information.

Thank you everyone for a successful first event!

Thank you to all who came out on Saturday despite the rain and planted their first Seeds to Soil plant. Hugest thank you to Steve for getting us a big and sturdy tent providing shelter from the heavy rain! S2S now has a dedicated set of seed growers around Central Harlem! We gave out a few of each of the "Miles" and "Dizzy" and "Monk" plants, and we'd love to hear how your plant is doing - create a seed post and send us a photo of it at home (right now it should be in a dark place) or just write a message with your thoughts or guesses on the secret identity of your seeds! Check back and see how other people's seeds are doing and maybe you can share tips!

Please join us for the first planting of the season!
